Ideate Community Update No.12
Unveiling Moodboard Studio and celebrating our growing design community
TL;DR
After years of losing creativity to file conversions, cluttered desktops, and endless feedback loops, Moodboard Studio is Ideate’s answer. It’s one seamless space to collect, clarify, and present early creative concepts without breaking your flow.
It marks the beginning of reclaiming the design process, built for designers who want to set the new standard instead of following the old one.
The team also hosted the first Designers House, bringing together 300 creatives to test-drive Ideate and share ideas about the future of design.
On the business front, Ideate has reached $150K in pre-seed funding, halfway to its $300K goal, and officially welcomed Waskar Paulino as CTO. He led the development of Moodboard Studio and was recently named a 2025 RealLIST Innovator.
Now Ideate is inviting designers and investors to join the mission. Try Moodboard Studio, spread the word, and help make design flow again.
Moodboard Studio is Here and We’re so Proud
Somewhere between the 87th screenshot on our desktop, the .webp conversions, and the hours spent formatting the perfect bento box of reference images… our creativity quietly left the room.
Moodboard Studio fixes that.
One beautiful, intuitive space to collect, clarify, and present early creative concepts without killing your momentum (or your morale).
It’s the first step in reclaiming design process. We’re inviting the ones who want to set the standard to lead the next wave.
If you’re the kind of designer who’s tired of jumping through hoops to get your work green lighted instead of just creating innovative work,
Designers House was Beautiful
The Inaugural Ideate Designers House was something really special. It was incredible to see so many creative minds come together, share ideas, and just feed off of each other’s energy. The space was full of conversations about design, collaboration, and the future of creativity. It was the kind of environment that reminds us why community matters so much. We also gave everyone a chance to demo Ideate, and it was rewarding to see the 300 designers get the chance to be hands on with what we’re building..
We did run into a few hiccups with the recording setup, so some moments didn’t get captured the way we hoped. But that just means we have more reason to make the next one even better. And there will be a next one — we’re already looking forward to bringing the community back together next year, bigger, better, and definitely with smoother recording.
Halfway to Our Fundraising Goal - $150k to go!
We are excited to share that we have raised $150,000 in pre seed funding. This milestone reflects the confidence our early backers have in our vision and fuels our mission to empower designers with better tools and faster workflows.
We are now working to close the remaining $150,000 of our $300,000 pre seed round by the end of the year. Every dollar raised goes directly toward building and getting these tools into the hands of designers as quickly as possible.
There is still time to be part of this journey, but the window is closing fast. If you believe in our mission, we would love to connect before the round closes.
New Team Addition
We’re thrilled to officially welcome Waskar Paulino as our Chief Technology Officer!
At his core, Waskar is a builder. He’s spent his career visualizing patterns where others see chaos. Recently, he led the development of Moodboard Studio through its public release — helping to provide designers with clarity at the earliest phases of their process.
He’s also deeply committed to building community and representation in tech — values that perfectly align with our mission to empower our design community.
And if that’s not enough reason to celebrate, Waskar was just named one of Technical.ly’s 2025 RealLIST Innovators 🎉
We couldn’t be prouder to have him leading the next phase of Ideate’s development.
How Can You Be of Help?
To all my designers, art directors, creative directors, and studio owners go test drive Moodboard Studio!
Funding: We’re seeking introductions to all investors interested in the design space, and getting in early!
